FYLINGDALES and East Whitby Schools came out on top of the years three and four gymnastics festivals held at Eskdale School.
Fylingdales beat off competition from Egton, St Hedda's RC and Oakridge Schools to win the small schools title, while East Whitby came top, beating off competition from Stakesby, West Cliff, Airy Hill, Ruswarp and Sleights in the large school category.
Eskdale School students from years seven, eight and nine developed their own leadership skills by coaching and judging the youngsters who completed a range of gymnastic disciplines.
All of the gymnasts performed on both floor and vault apparatus and demonstrated a range of body management skills.
Organiser Caroline Watson from the School Sports Partnership said: "Well done to all of the children who took part both as competitors and as leaders and I thank everyone who has helped to make both afternoons a great success."
Coming soon in the Whitby Gazette: pictures of the trophies being presented to the winning teams.
