WHITBY Bowling Club's Geoff Watson and Robin Hood's Bay's Tim Purcell hit the victory trail in competitions in Scarborough.
Forty six players took part in a seven-hour singles merit competition played in miserable weather on Borough BC’s Manor Road green.

This was the one where Watson took first prize with a 21-15 victory against North Cliff’s Danny Cooper in the final.

Seventeen of the first game losers in the main competition then entered a “tea and biscuits” event which ended with a 21-20 victory by Purcell over Ken Hinchliffe, of Bridlington Dukes Park BC.
