A HOCKEY festival for Whitby area primary schools proved a hit.
Six schools took part – Airy Hill, Goathland, Lythe, Lealholm, Fylingdales and Stakesby.
Around 80 pupils from years four, five and six were involved and played in mixed school teams. Players were awarded top team player and top team leader in each team.

All involved performed exceptionally well in persistent rain but despite the weather, no-one complained and players mixed well with new team-mates and demonstrated some super skills and teamwork. The festival could not have gone ahead without the students who acted as exceptional role models throughout the afternoon.
