FYLINGDALES 2nds landed their first silverware of the season with an eight-wicket win over Ganton 2nds in the final of the Murray Brown and Sons Cup on Friday night.
The impressive Richard Hodgson finished his spell of 5-27 by polishing off the tail with a hat-trick, while Jamie Agar took 4-33 as Ganton stumbled to 61 all out. Only John Bannister with 22 and Antony Allison, 17, made much impact with the bat.
In reply William Morley hit 37 for 'Dales 2nds and Peter Hinchcliffe 22 not out, to put on 58 for the opening wicket before Bannister claimed two scalps.
But it hardly delayed the Fylingdales victory charge as they got home with five overs to spare.
Sponsor Melvyn Brown presented the trophies at the end of the game, with the man-of-the-match award going to hat-trick hero Hodgson.
Result: Fylingdales 62-2 (W Morley 37, P Hinchcliffe 22no) bt Ganton 61 (R Hodgson 5-27, J Agar 4-33) by 8wkts.
