THE SWELL Cafe in Robin Hood's Bay has made it onto a list of top 10 English seaside cafes in the Telegraph.
The cafe, which is in The Old Chapel on Chapel Street, along with the village itself impressed the reviewer.

They described ‘Bay as “a strong contender for Britain’s most beautiful coastal village, the cobbled lanes and old fishermen’s cottages of Robin Hoods Bay – just ‘Bay to the locals – tumble down a precipitous slope to the North Sea shore.

“Halfway up, this sleek, modern tearoom offers fairtrade drinks, excellent carrot cake, and a stunning view along the cliffs and bays from the balcony.

“There’s also a unique sideline – a gorgeous old cinema with 1820s chapel pews as seating (screenings Wednesdays and Sundays).”

The Swell is owned by Jane and Jason Brine.

Jane told the Gazette: “We are delighted to be chosen as a top 10 cafe with views.

“It is recognition of the cafe and its spectacular position in such a beautiful part of the country.”
