THE SNEATON and Hawsker show took place on Saturday despite heavy rain in the afternoon.
Last year’s show was a washout but the rain held off until after lunch this year.

Secretary Karen Souter said: “We had a really good turnout and took plenty of money on the gate.

“It was a successful day and lots of people came along and had a good time.”

The heavy rain after lunch forced organisers to pull some of the planned events including the outdoor demonstrations by the fire brigade, Pesky Huskies and the grand parade.

Karen added: “We were busy, it was steady all day from opening the gates at 8am. It was lovely all morning and going really well before the heavy rain put paid to our plans for the afternoon.”

Most categories were well attended, particularly sheep and cattle in the light of blue tongue restrictions.

Only one cow was forced to pull out because of the government restrictions currently in place.
