A FYLINGTHORPE youngster is celebrating after recently passing The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) acting exams.
Matt Glaysher (13), who attends Scarborough Stagecoach, had to train for seven weeks with local drama teacher Paul Elsam to prepare for the tough exams.
It is the first time that Stagecoach has entered anyone into the exams and due to this year’s success, it hopes to continue the scheme every year.
The Caedmon pupil had to prepare two pieces to perform for their examination and had to put in many hours of their own time learning lines and researching his roles.
The group of seven travelled to Leeds for the exam.
They were thrilled when they found that they had all passed, some with distinctions and merits.
Nicky Sweeney-Chisholm, principal of Stagecoach, said: “I am absolutely thrilled with their results, they were so dedicated to the work.
“We were also rehearsing for a musical at the same time so they had to put a lot of hours in.”
