VILLAGERS packed into Fylingdales School for its long standing tradition – Carols Around the Tree.
The annual event on Wednesday 16 December saw parents and residents from the village fill the school hall for a special nativity performed in rhyme by the school’s four and five year olds and they then joined the children in carols around the Christmas tree.

Generous families and businesses donated dozens of prizes including a meal for six at Falling Foss Tea Gardens and a luxury hamper, for a raffle which raised £400 for school funds.

A bottle of bubbly and a box of chocolates was presented to the family of four-year-old Alfie Landers who sold the most raffle tickets which amounted to £62.
