I was born during the Second World War when most people had very little, but were happy with their lot.
Now we have every conceivable luxuries and look at the mess we have made of things.
I refer to a recent story headlined, Bin Laws, and the maximum fine of £1,000.
This country is rapidly reaching meltdown, common sense has gone out of the wind
ow and the only people with any rights are the villains.
Granny Smith, who is 94, suffers with her feet and can hardly walk, does not possess a Porsche, only a bus pass, puts a glass bottle in the wrong bin and is immediately taken to court.
The hooded yobbo who knocked her down last week and stole her handbag and precious savings, all £150, goes in front of the beak, gets 200 hours community service, a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again, having been in front of his lordship 47 times previously.
We send the best of our young men to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan (while the yobbos stay in bed until midday and live on benefits), we then stick a rifle in his hands and allow him to get shot.
But if he is one of the lucky ones, when he comes home and wants to take his old man to the pub and have a pint and a cigarette he has to go outside, have a sly drag and then sneak back in to the bar before anyone notices.
Yes, we must have rules, laws and regulations but what has happened to common sense?
