Published Date: 14 November 2008
At this time of the year, with Remembrance Day still in our minds, I wonder if any of your readers, particularly those in the Upper Esk Valley, could assist me with a local research project.
I am trying to gather as much information as I can about the 29 men listed on the Castleton and Danby War Memorials.

Many details do of course exist – from the church remembrance book, Gazette archives, Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), and previous research.

However it would be nice to record any more personal information (photos, papers, awards etc.) that even now, so long after the conflicts, may still exist.
