I am trying to get some information on my late grandfather John Nicholas Frankland who I believe was a printer for the Whitby Gazette in the 1920/30s.
My mother who lives in Somerset was told by a friend from Saltburn that some years ago there was an article in the Whitby Gazette which made reference to my grandfather, also a photo of the street where he lived. She believes the small girl in the street was my mother.

I would also be glad of any information you may have on his time working for the Gazette before his early death in 1933 aged 42.

John Goldsmith, 4 Reynolds, Langford Budville, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 0RJ, email: nick@goldsmith.fsnet.co.uk
