From: Dave Smith, chairman of Whitby Rugby Club, via email
Further to your excellent coverage of the rugby club extraordinary general meeting, can I point out that Scarborough Borough Council has also taken ownership of the club buildings.

This is via a term in the lease and negates over 40 years of hard work done by unpaid volunteers to bring the club to its present standard.

I’d also like to thank councillors Kenyon, Jennison, Booth, Plant and Dickinson for their pledges of support in our struggle to keep the rugby club alive.
