THE June meeting was opened by Beryl Thompson and the minutes were read by Chris Hebron.

Members were told of a win of £18 with the 200 Club and that now is the time to order WI diaries and calendars.
Forthcoming events included an invitation by Esk Valley WI to Danby Village Hall on 1 July to see Get Away Hats, the International Day
at Terrington on 6 July, various lunches and rambles, a Pudding Tasting Club at Easingwold on 28 October and a visit to the Coliseum to see Land Girls on 25 June.
Chris Hebron, the delegate for the AGM in London, gave an account of the meeting at the Royal Albert Hall which includes Maureen Lipman, Sue Pollard and Jonathan Wilde as guest speakers and Richard Stillgo accompanied by the Orpheus Centre Apprentices as excellent entertainment. The resolution SOS Honeybees was passed with 99.4% majority and mention was made that all pollinators are in need of help and that this is an international problem.
The speaker, Mr A Nicholson, gave a talk and slide show on More Secrets of the Attic.
Birthday flowers were presented to Molly Robinson and Marian Scott. Winners of the competition for an old comic postcard were first Elizabeth Tindall, second Gillian Hodgson.
The next meeting will be on 7 July and Mrs J Marshall will give a talk, My Childhood Under Hitler, the competition will be a wartime recipe.
