THE July meeting of Hawsker WI was opened by Beryl Thompson and the minutes were read by Chris Hebron.
Members were reminded to order their calendars and diaries.
Those wishing to go to the Gardeners' Question Time at Fryup were asked to put any gardening queries in writing in advance of the meeting on 9 September.

Amateur Dramatic Society's production of Home Is Where Your Clothes are on 25 August, Double Vision on 15 August and assorted rambles, flower arranging and an archaeology taster at York.
On Sunday 25 October there will be a craft day in Danby Village Hall with demonstrations of spinning dying and weaving.
The speaker, Mrs J Marshall gave a talk on her childhood under Hitler and told of her early life in Austria and Nazi indoctrinated schooling. Her autobiography, The White Rose and Swastika has now been published. She was thanked by Beryl Thompson for her informative talk on life under the evil regime.
The winners of the competition for a wartime recipe were: 1 Helen Dixon and 2 Helen Innis.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday 11 August when Mr Carter will give a talk called Roadshow Antiques. The competition will be a brass bell.
