THE president opened the January meeting and Mrs Hebron read the minues of the last meeting.
Members were reminded of A Touch of Class at the Seaman's Mission on Friday 6 February, Tissingham Well Dressing on 26 May, the annual council meeting at Scarborough on 15 April and belly dancing on Saturday 16 May at Brandsby Village Hall.
The craf
t afternoon at Wibury today is from 2-4pm, £1, all welcome.
Hawsker WI will be holding dominoes drives on Sunday 8 February and Sunday 8 Marcha t the Fylingdales Inn.
The schedule for the mini show in October was discussed and ideas for the group show were requested.
Winners of the competition for a piece of Christmas cake were first Margaret Noble, second Christine Hebron. Birthday flowers were presented to Dorothy Wilson, Wilna Hodgson, Margaret Smith, Hazel Dixon and Margaret Miles.
Susan Beck gave a talk on Burkima Faso, West Africa, which is the most illiterate and second poorest country in the world and was thanked by Beryl Thompson.
The next meeting is on Tuesday 10 February at 7.15pm and Miss E Stoppard will give a talk on Artwork with Willow Sculptures. Non-members are welcome at a cost of £3 and the competition for members is an item of wood.
Anyone wishing to become a new member can contact Mrs C Hebron on 605973 or come along to a meeting, cost £3. Members do not have to come from Hawsker itself, anyone is welcome.
